Confirmation bias is something that has been on my mind recently and as this week (with the appearance of the Ace of Swords on Sunday) is dedicated to unleashing the power of the mind, the predicament of our lady among the swords is of especial interest as it is a mental arcana ruled by Jupiter placed to his detriment in airy Gemini; the expansive spirit of Jupiter is dampened or rather allows the mind to race ahead with uncontrolled thoughts. That is where the danger of confirmation bias comes in as our lady between the swords may be given to read the situation according to her preconceptions and not according to evidence, binding her and placing her in a predicament of her own making.
However, with the Moon moving into Scorpio and conjunct Mars, now is indeed a good time to discover truth in life and to move with martial boldness against our fears and inhibitions and to gain some balance through self empowerment. We should also note that with the Moon still in the third quarter, now is a good time to forgive oneself for one’s misconceptions and cognitive biases.
