Well, this is a challenging arcana with which to start the week. We are prepared for a season of Temperance based on yesterday’s arcana, but here we are also presented with a breakdown of established – or ossified – patterns of thinking, old habits and ways of doing things that have become disconnected from the vitality of life.
The fire and water of the tempering process are here seen as elements of a storm that rages against the man-made stony structure of the tower. It is as if we are being offered the choice of the paths: that of Temperance, or that of The Tower; that of metal, or that of stone. Which is it to be this week?
