The 7 Rods indicates that the theme of this week is to be prepared to establish, stand up for and defend your unique position in the world. To do that, you need first to know what it is that you stand for. In the context of the Lenten Hermit and the Emperor (this being the Third Week in Lent), it requires that you take time out to establish the path you are following.
In the New Testament reading for this week we read,
Jesus was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered. But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub, the chief of the devils. And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.Luke 11: 14-16
In short, when you excel in what you do, it will be noticed; the dumb will speak and the people will wonder. In many cases, their envy and their desiccated hearts will cause them to cast aspersions against you or challenge you, and you must be ready to assert your position with the necessary vigour, show yourself to be the stronger party and “take the armour” and “divide the spoils” (Luke 11: 22) of your adversaries.
Here is an excellent video I watched the other day of my man Barron Cruz showing us exactly how Ben Shapiro stays strong, “removes the armour” and “divides the spoils” when in a 7 Rods situation vis-a-vis his adversaries:
Be sure to apply the lessons of this video in the defence of your position whenever you face a challenge on the things that matter to you.
