For the second time this month we end the week with the Page of Swords. Today the emphasis is on the quality of our thoughts. One phrase in today’s reading in the Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday happened to be on point. It is part of a quotation of Epictatus’ Discourses in which he observes,
…nothing but opinion is the cause of a troubled mind…

The Page of Swords is an arcana that speaks of the need to ground our airy thoughts, that is to become aware of what we are thinking and to bring our thoughts down to earth by understanding that the opinions we form through them, often unawares, and often to our own hurt through self-deprecation. Jeff, the Tatoo’d Spirit, expresses it best in his video on the Page of Swords:
