The Two of Swords is known as the Lord of Peace Restored and is governed by the Moon in Libra. Our lady of the rocks is poised, balancing two swords and blindfolded so as to access her interior vision. The tide is low and the rocks that were hidden can now be seen and we can navigate past them. There is a great desire for harmony and peace amid the questions and doubts of the world. But peace and beauty also emerge from an ability to hold doubts or conflicting ideas in balance. Keats called it the “negative capability” of which the greatest of poets are capable:
…it struck me what quality went to form a Man of Achievement, especially in Literature, and which Shakespeare possessed so enormously—I mean Negative Capability, that is, when a man is capable of being in uncertainties, mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reasonJohn Keats, The Complete Poetical Works and Letters of John Keats, p. 277.
Let us, therefore, show up this week, amid all the fear, uncertainty and doubt of the moment, with a capacity for negative capability, for balance and inner peace.
