3rd Sunday After Easter

The keywords for this week come from the words of the collect in which the “light of thy truth” leads “them that be in error” “into the way of righteousness,” which reminds us that the magi were led by the light of the star and that in turn the (17) Star is the arcana of “flourishing.”

The Collect

Almighty God, who shewest to them that be in error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they may return into the way of righteousness; Grant unto all them that are admitted into the fellowship of Christ’s Religion, that they may eschew those things that are contrary to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable to the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Book of Common Prayer

Old Testament

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Psalm 36: 9

New Testament

I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

John 16:22

Liturgical Affirmation

Canet tuba, et mortui resurgent incorrupti.

Ego sum radix et genus David, stella splendida, et matutina.

The trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall rise again incorruptible. I am the root and offspring of David, the bright and morning star.
